THE BIRTH
KAJI – the design house opened its doors to the public in 2009, taking its inspiration from the aesthetics of creativity. The term ‘KAJI’ features in the Japanese dialect, and quite simply means fire. It is also a cosmic fusion of two characters, implying the transformative power between self and Buddha. And as the saying goes, Buddha is creative life itself. The modus operandi of this design led company is the synthesis between the glory of the past and the minimalistic trend of the present. Our brand addresses the gap in trend within lifestyle and interiors, by bringing vintage and retro back to the world stage.
THE BIRTH
Born and schooled in Kolkata, Shrivant More graduated from The University of Manchester in 2005, with a degree in management. Whilst working in the accounting firm, Ernst & Young, London, he added to his list of merits, the prestigious qualification of Chartered Accountancy in 2008. Upon his return to India, he saw the direction of his career path shifting towards creative concepts, furniture and interior design. With an inborn aesthetic sense and a flair for all things creative, Shrivant was undeterred by the lack of professional education in this field. The result is the inception of the brand KAJI, looking to take on the lifestyle industry with its funk edged products and novel ideas.
